IT'S A BOY..........................

Kelli delivered this "big boy" at 3:30 p.m. today. For tonight, he is without a name as they are still pondering something that goes with "Luciano", his middle name for sure. I'm sure within the next day or so they will name this little darling.

He resisted for about 16 hours.....not sure that he wanted to make his debut. Thankfully, after a long night and day he arrived weighing 9 lbs. 1.6 oz. and was 22 inches long. He is really big and beautiful! There was a little drama involved in the process and one would have to call him a miracle. But I call all births miracles. He is doing fine.
We are thankful that this event turned out as well as it did. I'll leave the drama part for another post. Right now we are celebrating his birth!

Thank you all for your well wishes for Kelli. Your thoughts and prayers have meant so much to our family. You are true friends in every sense of the word.

Tonight at 11:12 p.m. Kelli called to say that she was on her way to the hospital to get checked out. Her due date was Monday. After the phone call I have been wide awake waiting to hear back from her on whether or not I should proceed to the hospital. She just called now, 1:30 a.m. to say that she has dialated 2 cm. in the last hour, a total of three. She is in triage and once they get her in a room she will call and I will head on down to the hospital. The drive is 45 minutes. I am so excited.......I couldn't sleep now if I was given a tranqualizer! I am all pumped up and the adrenelin is flowing. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A BABY SOON!

I promise to post something as soon as I can after delivery. Aaron's mom is with the girl's now so eventually I will hook up with her to take over their care. I will be off from work for one week. I am looking forward to the time off and getting to know my new grandbaby.

It's almost time..........

Just a quick update on Kelli.

Tomorrow is her due date! I am not expecting that she will go on that date because last Wednesday when she went for her weekly check-in......absolutely NOTHING was happening! She will return to her OB this Wednesday and if still NOTHING is happenng, he will send her for a sonogram to make sure that her ambiotic fluid is adequate. Her doctor has told her that he will not let her go over one week which would be Feb. 25th. So.....sometime within the next week we will have a NEW baby in our family.

We had a busy day today....leaving church and spending the afternoon out. I will post about that a little later. Kelli has begun to swell......especially in her hands and she says that she can feel "fatness" in some other areas too! Even so, you can see she still has her sense of humor. This swelling seems to be a regular thing with her pregnancies. Thankfully she is delivering in February and not in August. Gianna was born in August and she swelled up terribly. Her wedding rings had to be cut from her fingers after church one Sunday. This time she has taken her rings off so that wouldn't happen again.

She started out in the pregnancy being very sick and didn't start gaining well until about the fourth or fifth month. She has steadily gained but.....she has not put on as much weight as she did with Gianna. She has said all along that she wouldn't gain so much. Well....she has done better but she hasn't deprived herself one little bit. Just ask her......she'll tell you she's hungry every minute of the day. I have to say that she looks really healthy and has been and is extremely active with two young ones to care for. She has felt really good since she completed the first trimester and hasn't slowed down for anything. She is slowing a wee bit now, anxiously waiting for the time to come.

We are so excited about this joyful time awaiting us. If I could please ask for your prayers once again, that Kelli will have an uneventful delivery but a perfectly healthy baby and that this can be accomplished quickly. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and well wishes for her during the last six months. We are almost there. God is so good!
