Sunset tonight!

Hailee and I were on our way back to my condo and we saw this beautiful sunset! We pulled over to take pictures. Hailee really likes this picture. So I decided to post this tonight. She didn't like any manips, but just the way it is. She says it looks like Jesus' cross. What do you think?

Beautiful Hailee

Beautiful Hailee, originally uploaded by Mamaquita.

All of these pictures are from our Fourth of July picnic at my friend's home. We had a great time and the food was scrumptious!

I really love this picture of her. This is how happy she was the whole day. She just wanted to be in the water; or I should say, jumping from the diving board. She is very comfortable in the water and even though she would come out shivering, it didn't stop her from returning and starting all over again!

A great 4th of July!

Let's start with the pictures on my wall. This is not how I originally wanted this to start, but sometimes one has to improvise!

Here are some of my favorite pictures that I in my condo. These are the small things that have made this condo my home. Nothing fancy, just homey.

This first picture is the hallway leading to my bedroom. To get a better perspective of where this room is, if you were to walk straight back from the foyer, it would lead to my bedroom. You would pass the staircase to the loft on the right and the laundry on the right as you proceed down the hall.

I really love my bedroom. I love the colors and it is very cozy. I feel most comfortable there and my bed is to die for! I can spread out and it is where I like to be when I am feeling badly, feeling emotional and even when I'm happy. I've had a huge range of emotions in that bed and if it could talk you'd hear some good stuff and some.........well, let's not even go there. I'll just say that my husband and I slept on that mattress together for many years. And I hope that I never have to replace it. Seriously, it is really too hard for my back problems. But I never want to see it go! Oh no! I think I probably have just said way too much!

The accent chairs are very old. They were given to us by my husband's family when we moved to our house almost 30 years ago. They had been antiques then. We had them re-covered when we moved there and I still really like those chairs. I had anticipated getting rid of them when I was moving here, but my friend talked me into keeping them and I am so glad that I did. They need to have new fabric on them, but I am in no hurry to do that.

Also, I forgot to mention that there is a bathroom in my master bedroom and a bathroom at the other end of the condo outside of the bedroom that my son sleeps in. They are both full baths. They are both in need of being re-decorated as they have not been upgraded since this building was built.

Now, let's go on to the next pictures.

These next pictures are the bedroom while my son sleeps. It is a very girly room as he had intended to sleep in the loft but it is hotter than blue blazes up there in the summer! I guess because we are on the third floor, basically,
"up on the roof". No pun intended! He doesn't complain except that the closet still has a few of my clothes in it. I think he would like to have at least one closet to call his own. I really have to start working on that. More on that later!

I have always loved white furniture. So, when I moved here it was the perfect time to get that furniture. I think the pale yellow and the blue/yellor comforter is so pretty. The drapes? Well, there is a story about those drapes. My son actually completely remade the window treatment in that room. I kid you not. He is a jack of all trades. He really can do many things. He did ask that I not tell everyone that he did that though. So ladies, just keep it between us!

The mother/baby figurine that is setting on the bedside table was given to me by my husband when I was pregnant with our daughter. It is so beautiful. I will post on that another time. My daughter recently remarked that she hoped that she would be able to have that someday. And of course I want her to have it. My husband was always so thoughtful and when he would travel on business, he would always bring small gifts for the children and me.

The last picture in this set is of the windows in that bedroom. The balcony is on the other side of those windows. Or, you can enter the balcony from the dining/living room area. '

Now, let's go on to the next set of pictures.

Here is another picture of the hutch. I forgot to mention that it is a corner hutch. It is about 40 years old. You don't see many hutches today that are this tall. It also has storage in the bottom. In the little house that I grew up in, the kitchen was so small. We had a table and chairs and this hutch in the corner. It was tight. My mother loved this hutch as if it had cost a million dollars. And to her, saving like she did, it probably felt like it. She took very good care of it while in her possession and my sister and I have too. My sister had it for awhile after my mom passed away, but six years ago, when her husband was killed and she lay in the hospital recovering from her injuries, she told my husband and I that we should try to get the hutch as soon as possible. So, we rented a truck and proceeded to get it back to our home. She mentioned again to me that our mother wanted me to have that hutch. So now it is in my possession and I couldn't be happier.

The next three pictures are of the kitchen and the little alcove that houses this little table and chairs. It is cleaned off in these pictures. But most of the time you will always see my laptop, the camera, my phones, the printer and my bead board with lots of mess! I use this table for many things. Yes, and sometimes I will clear off a spot to actually eat.

This first picture is of the foyer, taken as if you were leaving. I know, that sounds funny, but it shows how large the foyer actually is. If I had taken a picture coming in the front door, you would see an extension of the living room. The ceiling in the foyer is very, very tall. It extends all the way up into the loft.

The second and third pictures are of the living room. On the opposite side of the wall from the couch is the entertainment center. You will see a picture of that later.

The fourth picture is of the dining area in the living room. I guess that sounds strange, but because the room is very large, and I didn't want to give up my dining room set, I made it into a dining area. My son hung the light over the table as to give the room more lighting. Eventually, if I decide that I no longer need a dining area, then we can easily take down the light fixture.

The hutch in the right hand corner was my mother's. It means so much to me that I have it. I remember as a teenager, my mom saved money for a very long time so that she could buy this hutch. To me, it is absolutely beautiful. The glass on the doors is very different. I think you would call it concave. I will give you a better picture of this later on.

This is the end of the tour my friends. I hope that it wasn't too confusing because this is not how I had originally planned on doing this. Blogger can be difficult at times. This was one of those times. Thank you all for taking the time to go through the tour.
