WHAT IS THIS MELODIOUS LITTLE BIRD?

For all of my bird friends out there, I would love to know what this little guy is. It likes to hang out on a northern crabapple tree in front of my condo window. It just chirps and sings and whenever I hear it, I go right to my window to be greeted with it's sweet little face. I recently got a new lens for my camera. With that I was able to get these shots.

I would love to hear from you........comments are very welcome.

IN LOVING MEMORY....

Today marks the five year anniversary that you passed away. I can hardly believe that I have managed without you. You remain so close in my thoughs and even closer in my heart. I carry the love we shared within me. And know that someday we will meet again. You are dearly loved and sorely missed by your children and grandchildren. We keep you alive in our hearts.......as we remember you and your sense of humor, your love of life and family. Your silly made-up songs and crazy ramblings bring smiles to our faces and chuckles from within as we recall them. To say your name is pure love. And tomorrow is another day.

To My Beloved by Celia Wenig

You had a talent for bringing special meaning to life,
It was such a pleasure to be your wife,
You helped me to grow and to realize
The fullness and the beauty in our lives.

Every day I counted my blessings.
Then God called, and you went away
Out of this world to a brighter day.
Suddenly my life of gladness
Turned to utter sadness.

My grief wears me down, I shed so many tears,
As I recall your love and devotion through the years.
For your sake and in memory of your name,
I pray for strength to do things the same.

To reach out, to fill the hours with useful ways,
To comfort, to cheer and have no more empty days.
I try to console myself -- it was God's greater plan,
So I must accept it, if I can.

You moved away to His splendid home above,
If there is life after death,
I know you will be waiting there for me, With love.

Though Heaven and Earth divide us,
and the distance is so great,
I count my blessings for the years you were my mate.
I will live my life remembering, while you wait, slumbering.
My beloved, may you rest in peace.

A puddle.....fit for three ducks!

On my way to my daughter's house today, I drove to a shopping center near her home because I needed to pick up a few things to take to her. As I'm driving through a couple of different areas to get to the store, I look over to my left and happen to see three ducks and a huge black bird which I thought could possibly be a crow. The ducks were sitting in the grass and the bird was standing close by. I stopped my car and just observed for a while.

I couldn't believe what I was actually seeing. As you will see in the pictures, there is a large grassy field where the ducks were sitting. In front of the grassy field you will see water. That water is actually a huge hole in the parking lot/road that has filled up with water and thus giving these little guys their own "pond". Cars were coming and going past this little pond and the ducks were not the least bit concerned. I've just come to the conclusion that those ducks don't give a darn what or where the water is. They just like water; mud and water, scum and water, it doesn't matter.

When I got to my daughter's, I told her what I had seen. And she said that those ducks are over there in that little pond all of the time. She even said, "Aaron drove throught that big puddle before mom. And it was really deep. We almost needed someone to come and pull us out". Um, okay then. Should I tell him that he really shouldn't drive through standing water?

L.J. says, "no ducks....where are they"?

I had visitors last night! My son and L.J. came over and we took a walk down to the pond. We dodged the goose poop.......very carefully. You might know.......NO GEESE ON THE POND TONIGHT! We walked all around the pond and saw one goose sitting on her nest. L.J. asked, "are dey hiding"?

How adorable is this?

He was watching t.v. on the floor.......The Backyardigans! You know, Uniqua, Tyrone, Tasha, Pablo & Austin? He usually asks to watch it when he comes over. My son says he has seen each episode a million times. I just couldn't stand how darn cute he looked on the floor with his little hands under his chin. This little guy always steals my heart........I just turn to mush when he's here.

GIRL'S JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!

Today was a warm, sunny day in Maryland. We didn't get the predicted "cloudy, possible rain and thunderstorm" forecasted. It was very hot in the sun, but the breeze was so beautiful you just didn't mind it. I'll take this kind of weather for the entire Summer! I hope that we can have at least a month or two of this as I am dreading the drasted hot, humid and rancid weather that is sure to hit here way too soon for me.

Little "G" spent last night with mom-mom. She was up and about at 6:30 a.m., ready to put a fork or spoon in her mouth, with food of some kind to nourish her hungry tummy! The minute her eyes open she wants to chow down. If only I was kidding. We have a nickname for her......THE EATING MACHINE! After eating cheerios with milk and sipping on some apple juice, we managed to get parts of "Curious George" and "Enchanted" in between her request to take a bath and play in the tub with toys. And around 8:30 a.m. she just happened to mention that she was ready for lunch and asked for New England clam chowder. I put her off for a little while, but then she repeatedly kept saying that, "I want clam chowder, mom-mom". So, I heated up some of that and she ate some, not much and announced that she was ready to get down and play some more.

At around 10:30 a.m. we were out of here! We left and went back to her house where we joined her mommy and baby brother and proceeded to go the the Farmer's Market in our little town. They were in the process of closing up and taking down so we didn't even get out of the car. We decided that since Kelli was very hungry, we would go out to lunch. Oh! I forgot to mention that Gianna told me, as we were leaving and driving up the street, that she was ready for lunch! I told her that she had just eaten clam chowder. She said, " That was dinner, mom-mom". All-righty then! Back to Kelli being hungry. So we headed over to a little dive in town that serves up some good omelets and bagels! And Gianna had another breakfast there. By now I'm sure that you are starting to understand where I'm coming from with this little one called "THE EATING MACHINE"!

We had a lovely afternoon and even managed to get a little shopping in too. Once we were back to my daughters house, and the girl's were outside playing, I just so happened to have one of my toys with me. So I was able to get these cute shots of the girls.

I hope that your week-end is a lovely one too. Enjoy it! Monday will be here all too soon. And for those of you who don't have to go out to work.........but work very hard at home.........Monday will still be here all too soon! So there! I still hope you have a great week-end!
